Appalachian State vs. Citadel football game sells out

As App State fans continue to purchase tickets and support their football program at a record pace, the Mountaineers’ Oct. 1 home game against the Citadel is officially sold out.

To allow families of App State students the best opportunity to attend the Family Weekend game, the only tickets available will be student guest tickets at $30 each, while supplies last. App State students will receive information via email today on how to reserve tickets and purchase student guest tickets. (NOTE: Visiting student tickets are not available for the September 3 game at North Carolina, but will be available for all other home games at the start of each game week, under the same protocols as the year last.)

It’s the latest in a sales trend at Kidd Brewer Stadium. App State announced on July 19 that football season tickets were sold out for the first time in school history after about 11,000 were sold. The following day, the September 3 season opener against North Carolina officially became a sellout.

Single tickets are on sale to the general public for the other home games. Families, friends and alumni are encouraged to consider remaining home game tickets such as Homecoming (October 29) to visit campus this fall.

There are a limited number of tickets available for The Rock Garden – a premium field area in the North End Zone – for all games other than North Carolina (due to temporary bleachers in the North End Zone ).

Last season, the Mountaineers won 10 games, captured a Sun Belt East Division title and played in their FBS-record seventh straight bowl game in as many eligible seasons after making the transition from FCS. App State’s record among all FBS teams since transitioning to college football’s top tier is trailed only by Alabama, Clemson, Ohio State, Oklahoma and Georgia.
