BOONE, NC – Friday’s Sun Belt Conference clash between App State (7-2, 5-1 SBC) and Louisiana No.20 (8-1, 6-1) was picked up by ESPN and will have a new kick-off time of 8:30 p.m. at Kidd Brewer Stadium.

The rematch for opponents of last year’s Sun Belt Championship was originally scheduled for October 7 before being moved to December 4 (with a kick-off scheduled for 7 p.m. on ESPN2).

This will be App State’s third game of the season on the ESPN main channel, an academic record, and it will be the seventh national television appearance in the regular season, an academic record. Last year, as it went 13-1, App State set school records with five national television appearances in the regular season and seven in total.

The Mountaineers are 35-10 all-time in games on ESPN, ESPN2 or ESPNU, including a 4-1 rating this year.

Scheduled to be App State’s final home game of the season, this year’s senior class will be recognized ahead of kick-off.

This week’s game is believed to be the last kick-off in Kidd Brewer Stadium history and only the second home game after Thanksgiving at Boone with a kick-off time of 8 p.m. or later. On December 7, 2007, with a Friday night kickoff at 8 p.m., App State won 55-35 over Richmond in the FCS semifinals as Armanti Edwards rushed for 313 yards with a listed temp of 42 degrees.

The current forecast for Friday evening calls for a low of 29 degrees and possible snow showers.

The Louisiana No.20, who won the Sun Belt West Division for the third year in a row, is the second nationally ranked opponent for App State this year. This is the first time the Mountaineers will host a Sun Belt Top 25 team, and it is the first year that App State has faced multiple FBS ranked opponents (at game time) since 2016.
