‘Cuse Football Gear Sales Rise Ahead of Camping World Bowl

Camping World Bowl gear selection and sizes at stores like Manny’s on the hill at Syracuse University are dwindling.

General manager Mike Theiss told NewsChannel 9 that the store received CWB shirts and sweatshirts shortly after the bowl was announced. While sales started slowly, Theiss says they picked up and increased during the Christmas shopping season.

The store also received many online orders.

“We certainly saw a lot of Christmas presents and a lot of it was being shipped out of town,” Theiss said. “We had a lot of online orders. Lots of last minute orders…people who decided last minute to go to the game…they had express delivery and we shipped things all the way to Florida for them.

In addition to CWB gear, Manny’s saw an increase in overall Orange Football gear sales this fall.

A 9-3 winning season proves lucrative for a local business like Manny’s.

“Normally we would plan and make a purchase for the football season and that would last until Christmas and this year we had to order two or three times and sometimes four, depending on the article,” Theiss said. “Basketball has been our best selling sport for quite some time and football is right behind and who knows, things are only getting better for football.”

If you’re looking for CWB gear at Manny’s, Theiss recommends calling the store before making the trip to make sure the size you need is in stock.

The store is located on Marshall Street on SU Hill and can be reached at (315) 472-8857.
