The sixth edition of WFS Europe is back, better and stronger than ever and it is set to place Seville at the epicenter of the global sports business ecosystem by bringing together a community of over 2,500 professionals on site, and more of 1,000 connecting virtually, in a hybrid event that promises to shape the future of the football industry.

  • When: September 28e and 29 2022
  • Where: El Palacio de Congresos y Exposiciones (FIBES), in Seville (Spain)
  • · Doors open at 8:30 a.m.

Over the course of two full days, attendees will have the opportunity to network and engage with every panel and guest through the official World Football Summit app and accelerate opportunities that would normally take years to materialize. As Global Football Summit Director and Co-Founder Marian Otamendi said:

“After two extremely difficult years, the whole WFS team is incredibly delighted to have the opportunity to cast the net of the football industry in Seville for the first time. The support of all the government and sporting institutions in the city has been out of this world, and we are sure it will be our best even to date.

Football has the power to change the world, and for this reason we are proud to announce that, for the first time ever, we are committing at least 30% of speakers to be women and donating 10% of our ticketing revenue to NGOs and charities helping people in need due to the war in Ukraine.

During the 48-hour period, more than 150 changemakers will share their knowledge and expertise on the live stage through more than 40 panels that will offer a 360º view of the present and the future of football, covering the topics most relevant to the industry, including the latest trends around web3, the consolidation of women’s football, sustainability, or how to connect with the sports fan of tomorrow. Some of the biggest names in world football won’t miss the chance, including:

  • Cindy Parlow Cone, President of US Soccer
  • ·Teacher. Mohammad Yunus, Nobel Peace Prize Laureate
  • Óscar Mayo, Executive General Manager of LaLiga
  • Claire Bloomfield, Head of Women’s Football at the European Club Association
  • Peter Hutton, Director of Media Partnerships (North America) at Meta
  • Alejandro Irarragorri, Chairman of the Board of Orlegi Sports
  • Dan Porter, CEO of Overtime

Along with all the other speakers, they will deliver timeless insights and wisdom to Seville in what promises to be the biggest event in the company’s history. Likewise, leaders and key decision makers from some of the biggest brands in football such as FIFA, UEFA, LaLiga, Meta, Microsoft, DAZN or Nielsen will lend their support to make this event a reality with the very first performance of Sports ministers from countries around the world.

As Jan Alessie, co-founder of WFS explained:

“We are delighted to see positive signs that the event will be our biggest event and it has been remarkable to see how many senior industry decision makers have had no doubts about joining us for WFS Europe.

The same goes for some of the biggest brands in the industry, as they understand that the business opportunities created at the event are second to none.

People want to network again at in-person events and they know the World Football Summit is the best place to do that.”

Finally, the WFS Awards ceremony will again be honored during the first evening of the event. As in previous editions, nearly 150 nominees in 10 different categories will be honored as the people and projects with the greatest impact on the future of football.
